Welcome to the Web home of Stewart Wills. Since the beginning of December 2013, I’ve been the editor of Optics & Photonics News, published by The Optical Society. In that post, I lead the editorial and creative team that puts out the best, most engaging, and visually richest coverage of optical and photonic science and tech around.
Before that, for 14 years, I served as the Web editor for the journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. There, I was steeped in issues related to online content, data, user experience, multimedia, social media, and the seismic shifts wrought by today’s networked information environment. I also have produced podcasts on a variety of topics for The Scholarly Kitchen blog of the Society for Scholarly Publishing.
